Background
Your photo is processed inside your browser and never uploaded to a server. The first image takes longer because the AI model has to download once.
Drop a photo below. The tool finds the subject and clears everything behind it. You get a transparent PNG back in about five seconds.
Nothing gets uploaded. The image analysis runs on your own device, inside the browser tab. Close the tab and no trace of your photo remains anywhere on the internet.
What it handles well, and what it doesn't
The AI works best on photos with one clear subject. Product shots on a table. A person against a wall. A pet sitting on a couch. It also handles tricky edges like loose hair, fur, and thin jacket strings fairly well.
Two situations it struggles with:
- Busy backgrounds with the same color as the subject. If you wear a green shirt against a green wall, some shirt pixels may vanish with the wall.
- Very small subjects in a large frame. If the subject takes up less than 10 percent of the image, the model sometimes misses it entirely.
When that happens, use the eraser brush to clean up. It's built into the tool, right under the preview.
The eraser and restore brush
AI makes mistakes. It leaves a sliver of chair leg near the elbow, or eats part of a finger. The manual tools fix that in seconds.
Pick Erase and drag over leftover background pixels. Pick Restore and drag over anything the AI removed by accident. The brush is adjustable from 5 to 80 pixels. Undo and redo track the last 12 changes, so you can experiment without fear.
When you're done, hit Reset edits to go back to the original AI result if you want to start over.
Pick a background, or keep it transparent
The default output is transparent. That's the right choice for most uses. But if you need a colored background, click any swatch below the preview. Eight presets are included, plus a custom color picker for anything else.
Choose your download format based on what you plan to do:
- PNG — keeps the transparency. Best for design work, stickers, layering.
- WEBP — same transparency, smaller file. Best for websites and email.
- JPG — no transparency, so the tool adds a solid background color. Best when the file needs to be tiny.
File limits you should know about
The tool accepts JPG, PNG, and WEBP images up to 20 MB. Most phone photos land under 5 MB, so you're unlikely to hit the ceiling. If you do, resize the photo first and try again.
The first image you process takes longer than the rest. That's because the AI model needs to download to your browser once. It's about 40 MB. After that first load, the model stays cached and every new image finishes in a few seconds.
Who actually uses this
Etsy and Shopify sellers who want consistent product photos. YouTube creators making thumbnails without a green screen. Real estate agents cleaning up listing photos. Anyone making a profile picture where the current background is embarrassing. Students building slides.
If your use case is one of these, you probably don't need Photoshop or a paid subscription. This does the job in one tab.
One last thing. The tool has no daily limit. Process one image or fifty, back to back, without signing up or paying. The only real cost is the first-time model download, and that happens once per browser.
